Dear Dr. Belsky,
I fear I may have an abscess ..at first I thought I mght have burnt my mouth,
but am now fearing the worst. a swelling/lump has appeared almost overnight..next to
my dodgy tooth on the roof of my mouth.
it feels smooth and full of fluid..what do you propose?
I know I need a lot of work done; as you told me when I had my first appointment with
you on 9 April .. shortly after I fractured my femur; I can only just walk properly again.
I guess I have to ‘get it together’ and come ..would you have time for me on Monday?
All best wishes,
Karen
…no sorry, I mean when your surgery has time; depending on how dangerous it is to have an abscess which is not treated …if I believed everything I read in the last 24 hours, I’d be
dead already! I’m not sure what this ‘lump’ is .. perhaps it’s a clogged mucous gland; I don’t know. I’ve ordered some antibiotics from the UK just in case …but I’ve a feeling my teeth are to blame. I feel embarrassed coming to a nice dentist; do you feel OK about accepting patients who’ve neglected themselves and then realise they need help? I can pay for treatment, but I need to know that you won’t hurt me, and neither will your colleagues hurt me …I’ve had terrible experiences in the past …e.g. very painful tooth extractions …I’d rather die than go through that again. Please help me. Best wishes, Karen.
Dear Karen!
The best is … now go to an Emergency Ambulance, and then come to us on Monday!
